Equity Market refers to a public entity used for the organized trading of company stocks, either through exchanges, or over-the-counter. It is through the stock market that shares or stocks are issued. The Equity Market gives companies access to capital, while allowing investors to own a piece of the company, potentially realizing gains. It is also referred to as the Stock Market.
