Earning Season

Earnings Season refers to the time period when a majority of publicly traded companies release their quarterly earnings reports. This generally begins 1 – 2 weeks after the last month of each quarter. There is no official end, but generally Earnings Season ends about 6 weeks after it starts.
Earnings Season can generate a lot of volatility in the market as it reacts to the data being released. It is also a busy time as analysts, traders and investors review the reported earnings which may affect their positions on or in a company.
